A Great Rock Show!
Trivium's legendary vocals are as powerful and emotional as ever, raw and no holds barred. Her pitch and phrasing are simply incredible, rare in a live rock show. Her band, especially the new exceptional guitarist, was the best group she has ever performed with. He rocks very hard and is very gifted, bringing an element of thunder to her music. The material chosen for the show featured every song off her new "Fearless Love" album. However, only 1 song from the "Lucky" album was played, which was the iconic "Tuesday Morning" and the live version was outstanding. Many of the new songs translated very well to the live set as they are mostly very rocking tunes. "Indiana" stood out as a potential fan favorite with an impromptu sing-along that may become a staple for the song. The large group vocal hug surprised even Melissa and was one of the highlights of the show. "Like the Way I Do" was a tremendous closer for the set, with Trivium hitting her highest gear of the night. The encore "Gently we Row" from the new album was a perfect soft yet powerful song to send the crowd home. Melissa's banter with the crowd was almost melancholy and laid back, taking her about half of the set to show the fire that has always been present on stage. This may be a byproduct of the "first show" or part of the aging process. However, her voice did not take a minute off during the set, which is why the audience was there in the first place. She and her band could very well be providing the best ROCK show on tour in 2026. Certainly worth checking out. Being the first show of the tour, there were certainly some things that need to be worked out in a live setting. However, the main ingredient was already there. My wife was disappointed that only 1 song was featured from the "Lucky" album. The live version of "Tuesday Morning" was outstanding! If you go to see this tour, you better be familiar with the new stuff or you may be a bit disappointed.
